Frequently Asked Questions

We have always celebrated those who prefer to live outside the box, those who think for themselves, those who embrace quirkiness in themselves and others.

At Mindseye Studio, we only work with a limited number of seniors each season in order to provide you with a one-of-a-kind completely custom personalized experience that allows you to shine. We specialize in providing the highest level of service and quality while creating art that will be cherished by your family for generations.

We believe that you deserve exceptional art to display in your home and images that reflect every aspect of who you are. We strive to provide you with an experience that will be remembered with delight every time you look at your images.

What Does The Session Fee Cover? Does It Include Any Images?

The session fee is paid in full at the time you book your experience and is non-refundable. The fee covers the personalized brainstorming consultation, the planning and preparation for your photo shoot, the time and talent of the photographer during the session, the hair/makeup artist, initial image preparation, and the sales appointment where you select your images and products.

Unless specifically stated, the session fee does not include any products, and it is non refundable in order to secure the dates for your consultation, photo shoot, and sales appointment in our calendar. It can be rescheduled once with 48 hours notice.

Do I have To come For A Consultation

For our Couture and Destination sessions the consultation is required because it’s a key part of your experience at Mindseye Studio. This is where we get to know each other and begin to plan the details of your experience. The consultation is fun and super helpful to start envisioning, in your mind’s eye, what you want your story to be and how we will all bring it life.

Do You Photograph In Your Studio Or On Location?

There is pretty much no limit as to where we will photograph our clients since every part of the experience is customized to them.  Typically we use the studio and locations but it depends on how your story unfolds and what your vision is.  Let’s just say that so far no one has suggested something we’ve had to say no to. Adventure? Bring it on!

How Much Should I Plan to Spend? What Does ‘Minimum Investment’ Mean?

When budgeting for your Mindseye Studio experience you should account for both the session fee and the minimum product investment (which varies by session type). The final amount that you ultimately invest is completely dependent on you as everyone’s individual preferences for displaying their final images may vary and our services are completely customtized to you and your needs.
The ‘minimum investment’ is the minimum requirement that you must invest in your final images at your sales appointment. This amount is determined in order to help our clients establish and prepare a budget well ahead of tim  for the complete experience. This allows us the flexibility to allocate the time and quality of service required in order to consistently deliver the highest level of personalized experience and service to every one of our clients.

When Is The Minimum Investment Due?

By booking your senior portrait session with Mindseye Studio you are making a commitment to the minimum investment required for your session. In order to provide you and all our clients with the level of experience that we are known for, we must turn down other clients in order to dedicate our time solely to you throughout the entire process.
The minimum investment must be paid in full at or before your sales appointment as compensation for services rendered whether or not product selections have been finalized.

How Many Outfits Will I Get To Wear?

You can wear several different outfits during your session and we plan those in detail during your consulation and the day of the photo shoot. We suggest you bring at least one full outfit more than we planned for.
Although you are not limited by ‘number of outfits’, only by the time in which we have to shoot, the faster you can change clothes the more outfits you can wear. We make the most of our time by planning ahead.

When Will I Get To See The Images From My Session?

When you book your senior portrait experience with Mindseye Studio, we will be scheduling three dates:

1) the consultation (unless booking the shoot after the consultation)
2) the photo shoot
3) the sales appointment

The sales appointment is the time where you will come to the studio to view the images from your photo shoot and make your final selections to purchase. We only hold one sales appointment so anyone who is a decision maker in this process must attend the sales appoinment which is typically held 1-2 weeks after the photo shoot.
When you schedule these appointments, please be sure ahead of time that every decision maker is available as our calendar gets filled during senior portrait season (June – October) and last minute reschedules are difficult to accommodate. In order to serve you best, we cannot proceed with a sales appoinment if all decision makers aren’t present.
During the sales appointment we ask that you relax and let us guide you through the process as you see your images on our large screen for the first time. This is a very exciting time, filled with emotion, and you can be sure that we are fully capable in helping you put together the best possible ways to display and enjoy your final images.
During the consultation and the time leading up to the sales appointment we will help you prepare for this appointment so that you can confidently make these selections with our guidance and expertise. Remember, we’re creating art that will be passed down from this generation to the next and so on.

NOTE: Booking must be completed by a parent (or legal guardian) unless the client is of legal age AND will be the one fully responsible for all financial decisions.

When Will I Get My Order?

Depending on your final selections, your custom products will be ready 2-6 weeks after the sales appointment. We will schedule your pickup appointment before you leave the sales appointment. Payment for your order is due in full at the sales appointment unless you qualify for our no-interest payment plans.

Payment plans are available on orders over $1500 (ask for details) and products are available for pickup after payment in full is made.

How Long Do You Keep My Images?

Images that are not ordered are removed from our system the morning after the sales appointment. We do not keep or archive any images that are not ordered at your sales appointment. All ordered images are archived for a period of at least one year from the date of the sales appointment.

What About My Yearbook Image?

We provide a digital version of any purchased image for use in your yearbook. We send the image image directly to your school/yearbook advisor based on their required specifications. We make every effort to have those specs on file but ultimately it is your responsibility to provide it to us if requested. If you don’t choose your yearbook image during the sales appointment please allow one week advanced notice before your school’s submission deadline.

What Happens If I Need To Reschedule My Session (or an appointment)?

We totally get it that sometimes unexpected emergencies come up that will prevent you from keeping your originally scheduled appoinment (illness, accident, weather or travel issues, or other emerency situations). If this happens, we ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice as we also need to let the stylist(s) know. With 48 hours notice, we provide a one-time reschedule. Additional reschedules are available for a fee of $150 per occurence and are subject to availability on our calendar.

Your session fee is non-refundable, however you can apply it towards your rescheduled date if completed within six months of the original date.

Can I Make Copies Of My Images To Print?

All images, purchased and unpurchased, always remain the property of Mindseye Studio/Scott Gantenbein/Lynn Parks and are protected under U.S. Federal Copyright Laws. Duplication in whole or in part without a Print License (including but not limted to scanning or reprinting) is strictly prohibited and may incur fines of up to $10,000 per image as defined by law.

This includes posting to social media sites scanned images or screenshots that were not provided to you by Mindseye Studio or without our permission.

What If I Want Only Digital Files?

We specialize in creating tangible printed pieces of art for our clients. We truly believe that it shouldn’t require electricity (or a phone or device or computer) to see an image of someone you love. We provide web-res images of every ordered image for social and online sharing.  If you truly only want the ‘digitals’ we offer individual full-res digital files starting at $299/ea and collections starting at five images. If you purchase digital files and make printed products with anyone but us we cannot guarantee the quality of the printed product.
